The Falcons Chris Petersen won the 182-pounds division while Louis Herley led the Warriors with a runner-up finish at 120 pounds. Plainview won the team title with 203.5 points. But Neligh-Oakdale came out strong in the third quarter, giving them the momentum in the second half for the 52-34 win. "I think we learned a little bit about ourselves tonight," said Warrior Coach Frank Gade. "The first half we had multiple opportunities to extend the lead and break away, but for whatever reason, the short ones were not falling tonight. I was proud of the way the boys responded in the second half after struggling in the first half." A free concert and cocktail hour are planned to thank Tilden library patrons. The public is invited to the library's annual Christmas program on Thursday, Dec. 4 in the library's Lied Auditorium in Tilden. Mingle with friends at a cocktail hour from 6 to 7 p.m., before the program. "All That Jazz," featuring the Camille Motoyer Moten Jazz Quintet will begin at 7 p.m. This is a free event. The event is made possible with support of the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, the Northeast Library System and the Tilden Library Foundation. A Tilden man was named the "2014 Outstanding Fair Supporter" at the annual meeting of the Antelope County Fair board Monday night. Kenny Oelsligle of Tilden was recognized by the board for his years of dedication to the fair. Board president Tim Good presented the award to Oelsligle. "Kenny was a member of the fair board for 24 years and is still active with the fair," Good said. Fair board member and officer elections were also held at the annual meeting. Those elected to the board were Jeff Carr, 2-year term; and Mike Zegers, Kenny Reinke and Greg Mullins, 3-year terms. Officers remained the same: Good, president; Reinke, vice president; Don Carr, treasurer; and Jeff Carr, secretary. Other board members are Fred Anderson, Van Volk and Ed Pellatz. Several Elkhorn Valley football players were voted to the D2-4 All-District football team. The teams assigned to District D2-4 were Elkhorn Valley, Hampton, Heartland Lutheran, Humphrey St. Francis, Osceola and Palmer. Elkhorn Valley ended the season with a 4-4 record and was coached by Rusty Rautenberg.
