The gym floor was refinished in a process that took three and a half weeks from start to finish. The work was done by J & J Floors out of Wyoming. According to school officials, it is estimated that it was the first time the floor had been stripped and painted in over ten years. The floor has an all-new look, including a two tone stain and the schools “angry falcon” mascot at half court. In addition to the new floor, more wall padding was added along the baselines in the gym. According to Athletic Director, Tracy Larson, “safety is always a concern and priority for student-athletes.” Both the mats and the floor were paid for with school funding. “The addition of the padding and the new look of our floor should make our gym stand out from others,” said Larson. Last Thursday the volleyball team had their first practice in the revamped gym. Larson said, “Our athletes and coaches are excited to start their seasons on our updated floor."
