Nebraska Public Power District will have a planned power outage, weather permitting, for the Oakdale area on Wednesday. The outage will be from 1 p.m. to about 4 p.m., according to NPPD. If anyone has questions, they are to call the NPPD help line at 1-877-275-6773. The Oakdale Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a gun show this weekend. The gun show will be held in the Oakdale Community Center on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3. Children are free, but must be accompanied by an adult. The firemen will also be selling raffle tickets to win a Henry Lever-Action 22 rifle. Tickets cost $1 per ticket or 6 tickets for $5.
A lasagna dinner will be held on Saturday, March 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oakdale Community Center. Dinner includes lasagna, salad, garlic bread, drink and dessert. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 5-12, and free for children under 5. There will also be silent auction items at the community center that night. Proceeds go to the Oakdale Public Library. The Oakdale Cemetery Auxiliary is having a meeting tonight, Monday, March 17. The meeting is being held at the Oakdale Library and will start at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend
Warm up with some soup this weekend.
A soup supper is being held in the Oakdale Community Center on Saturday, March 8 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Volunteers will serve soup, sandwiches, drinks and desserts for $6, kids 12 and under are $3. Proceeds from the event will raise money for Oakdale's annual Easter egg hunt. The Oakdale Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a Spud Bake and Taco Supper on Saturday, February, 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Oakdale Community Center.
Baked potatoes with a variety of toppings, tacos, drinks and desserts will be served. Cost is $5 for adults and children 12 and under are $3. All proceeds will be used for building improvements. There will be no school on Thursday, Jan. 16, at Neligh-Oakdale.
Teachers have an in-service/workday scheduled. Students who participated in the dance camp will perform at half-time of Thursday's home basketball games against Lindsay Holy Family. Those in grades K-2 will perform at halftime of the girls game, and those in grades 3-8 will perform at halftime of the boys game. Do you have an event you want to promote?
