It's "mayor official": Next week is Public Transit Week in Neligh, and the City of Neligh has lots of events planned to celebrate.
Mayor Joe Hartz signed the proclamation Tuesday morning, declaring April 6-10 Public Transit Week in Neligh. Dial-A-Ride drivers were also present for the signing - Jack Conger, Kathy Heckert and Gordy Hagge. This marks the inaugural Public Transit Week for Nebraska. Gov. Pete Rickets signed a proclamation urging Nebraskans to "increase their understanding and awareness of their local transit systems, and the many services provided." Events for Neligh include: April 6: Passenger Appreciation Day (thanking passengers and recognizing veterans) April 7: Let's Make A Deal (answer a question or perform a task for Neligh Big Bucks or a free ride)_ April 8: Backpack Day (pre-school through second-grade coloring contest) April 9: Selfie Contest (snap your best selfie on the bus and send it to the City of Neligh, drawing for a pizza party) April 10: Stuff the Bus (bring 1 baking supply item for the Antelope County Food Pantry and ride the bus for free) |
