Youth and adults wanting to sign up for the Hunter Safety class in Neligh have until Wednesday, Sept. 14, to do so.
All youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the beginning of the first class to sign proper paperwork. No exceptions allowed. Youth must be age 11 by Sept. 24 to become certified. The class is open to all ages, including adults. Those young than 10 are welcome to attend but will not become certified or participate in live exercises. The two-day class will be Saturday, Sept. 17 and 24, at the Neligh Library. The class will be from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. both days. Students will go to the shooting range on the final day. The class is free and sponsored by the Nebraska Game & Parks, Neligh Young Mens Club and Antelope County Shooter’s Club. All students under 19 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to the first session to ensure appropriate information is received on dates, sessions and additional requirements.
