The New Moon Community Theater, a Neligh non-profit organization, kicked off its fundraising efforts on Monday morning with a donation from Pinnacle Bank.
Pinnacle Bank president Andy Elder presented a $10,000 check to the group in front of the New Moon Theater on Main St. The donation will be used toward the purchase price of the theater. "We will be asking Antelope County businesses and residents to join in this adventure, contribute and save our local theater," said Stephanie Wanek. There are four tiers of giving available to donors: Academy Award - Donations of $10,000+ will receive a free screening (for up to capacity) and free popcorn Golden Globe Award - Donations of $5,000+ will receive two free passes for one year Tony Award - Donations of $1,000+ Emmy Award - Donations of $500+ In addition, a private donor has agreed to provide $10,000 in matching funds. Donations may be made through several ways: a special account-New Moon Community Theater, Pinnacle Bank, 324 Main St., Neligh, NE 68756; Save the New Moon Theater at www.gofundme.com; and through the donate button on their Facebook page, Save the New Moon Theater. A New Years Eve fundraising event is also being planned with more details to be released soon. The New Moon Community Theater non-profit organization is a group of individuals committed to the acquisition, restoration and operation of the historic landmark theater on Main Street in Neligh. The group is comprised of Antelope County residents who "share a passion for community engagement and the arts." The New Moon Community Theater organization has a mission "to enrich, educate and entertain our community by providing a range of arts and theater experiences in a beloved historic landmark." |
